A department nobody measures is a department you are guessing about.

Every Prestige account reports the same numbers every month, in the same format, to the administrator and into QAPI.

Why this is unusual

Ask your current provider what your linen loss rate is.

Most housekeeping departments — contracted or in-house — report activity rather than performance. Hours worked. Rooms cleaned. A general assurance that things are going well.

None of that tells you whether the department is improving, holding, or quietly sliding. These are the numbers that do, and they come from records already being completed at the point of work. Nothing here requires a separate system or a person hired to count things.

Department performance

What the department did.

  • Room completion rate — rooms signed off against rooms scheduled, by unit and by shift
  • Documented refusals — rooms not entered, with the reason recorded rather than left blank
  • Discharge turnover time — release to ready, average and outliers, so admissions knows what it can promise
  • Deep clean cycle completion — rooms completed against the rooms scheduled for the period
  • Floor care schedule adherence — tasks completed against the program calendar, by area
  • Project completion — what was targeted, what was delivered, what moved and why

Linen

Where operators lose money without seeing a line item for it.

  • Par variance by category — counted on hand against par, across laundry, closets, units and beds
  • Linen loss — units retired or unaccounted for, tracked per period and trended
  • Rag-out volume — what is being retired, and whether the rate is condition or handling
  • Emergency linen calls from the units — the number that should trend toward zero, and the fastest read on whether the par system is actually working
  • Reorder value against the prior period

Compliance and infection prevention

The numbers a surveyor would ask about.

  • Monthly audit score, with the off-hours audit reported separately from the standard-hours audit
  • Repeat findings — the same issue recurring, which is the only audit number that predicts anything
  • Isolation and terminal cleans completed and documented
  • Pest sightings logged, escalated and closed, with days to closure
  • In-service completion — percentage of assigned staff attending, monthly
  • Screening compliance — percentage of assigned staff cleared before first shift. This one is reported because it is the only number on this page with a single acceptable value.
  • Exclusion re-screening — percentage of the assigned workforce re-checked, monthly

Workforce

Turnover is the leading indicator for every other number on this page.

  • Shift coverage against contracted hours
  • Callout fill rate and average time to fill
  • Assigned team tenure and turnover in your building specifically, not a company average
  • Manager continuity — how long your housekeeping manager has held your account
  • Open positions and days open

Consumables

Our reporting on supplies runs the only direction that makes sense: down.

Because we do not sell you supplies, our reporting on them runs the only direction that makes sense: down. Usage by category, trended, with the waste we found and what we did about it.

How it reaches you

One monthly report in a fixed format.

One monthly report in a fixed format, so this month is comparable to last month and to the same month last year. Delivered to the administrator, presented at QAPI by the housekeeping manager, and held on site with the underlying records behind every figure.

Where a portfolio runs multiple buildings with us, the same report rolls up, so corporate can see an outlier in a month rather than after a survey.

Tell us what your facility needs.

We walk the facility with your administrator, director of nursing or environmental services director, review the current scope, the linen position, the condition of the floors and the state of the documentation, and put the whole scope in writing.
